Virat Kohli finally won his first IPL title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2025, breaking an 18-year wait. He was visibly emotional, celebrating with his teammates, his family, and his longtime friend AB de Villiers. Kohli expressed his deep loyalty to RCB, saying, "My heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore... this is the team I will play for until the last day that I play the IPL"

"I’ve given this team my youth, my prime, and my experience," Kohli expressed, his voice filled with emotion. "I’ve tried to win it every season, gave it everything I have. To finally have it is an unbelievable feeling."

Overcome with emotion, Kohli fell to his knees as the final ball was bowled. He shared a heartfelt embrace with his wife, Anushka Sharma, acknowledging her unwavering support throughout his career.

Kohli also paid tribute to his longtime teammate AB de Villiers, dedicating the win to him and highlighting his lasting impact on the franchise.

Despite the significance of the IPL victory, Kohli reaffirmed his deep respect for Test cricket, stating, "It still marks five levels under Test cricket. That’s how much I value Test cricket. That’s how much I love Test cricket."
