On May 30, 2025, the aviation community was shaken by the untimely demise of Captain Adik Amrith Raj, a 42-year-old pilot with IndiGo Airlines. His body was discovered in a decomposed state at his residence in MyHome Traksha apartments, Kokapet, Hyderabad.

The incident came to light when maintenance staff detected a foul odor emanating from his flat and alerted the Narsingi police. Upon entering the apartment, officers found Captain Raj's body lying on the drawing room floor. Initial investigations suggest he may have succumbed to health complications, as he had known conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. He was last seen on May 20. 

Captain Raj had been living alone since his estranged wife, Shaili Prasad, relocated to Kolkata with their children. The police have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
